Working with the ANT Group alleviated the headaches of building the models allowing me to focus on getting the building built.”Dennis Rustad, Matt Construction
Broad Museum Project Objectives
Coordinate multiple disciplines using multiple model formats. Allow 24/7 remote access to the latest model and data.
Work with six separate design-build contractors and the professional design team. Combine and coordinate multiple 3D model formats into a single ‘master’ model. Provide remote-access 24/7 while incorporating up to the moment design revisions. Adhere to an aggressive “hyper-track” schedule with major portions of the design still evolving while the project is under construction.
Knowledge of the latest construction technology and software allowed ANT to review, model and coordinate the design team’s vision with the construction team’s existing technologies and software. Providing 24/7 access to the latest model and revisions was accomplished using BIM cloud and standard FTP software. Without delay or additional fees, ANT provided access to the in-house model from both the headquarters and on-site office of Matt Construction. The ability for all parties to collaborate on a single model virtually, and from any location, resulted in improved communication and a reduction in coordination and verification time. The development of MCI (Matt Construction Issues) workflow and toolset provided Matt with a single point for instantaneously visualizing construction issues without the need for independent searching or documentation. The ability to perform automated and visual clash detection between the construction team’s trades was simplified via export of the construction model’s existing geometry.
