Upon completing a renovation for our client in Cabo San Lucas, he said, “now it’s time to build my house, and keep this one for my guests.”
We were given a blank slate to start. The site was in Pedregal, on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the beach at Cabo. The program called for dual master suites, 3 guest rooms and a caretaker’s apartment. Our solution was whimsical, with a roof top garden between the two suites that included a soaking pool that poured into the main pool below. When the program changed to add six more guest rooms and another garage connecting to the street below, we were able to accomplish that as well as add a third level to the pool. The access to the lowest pool is through a tunnel bored in the cliff. The resulting design had room for 40 guests, a three-level pool, a swim up bar and an 240 degree view from the Pacific to Lands End and beyond.
