Hard to believe, but it’s that time again! On Sunday, I’ll be heading off to Las Vegas to attend my 15th straight Autodesk University! But it will be a different experience for me this year—it’s the first year I will not be speaking in some capacity. I’m going there just to absorb and enjoy learning new applications, like Dynamo, immersive environments (AR & VR), computational design, “making” and other emerging technologies that will help us get more and more out of our models.
I’m also looking forward to wandering the Expo floor. You never know what you’ll find there—sometimes it’s in the smallest booths in the far corners of the hall that you find the most valuable nuggets. I’ll be networking, of course! There’s nothing better than sitting down with an industry colleague over a beer and talking about new and different ways of using technology and how we can change the way we do business as architects, engineers, and contractors.
If you’ll be at Autodesk University next week and want to get together, drop me an Email. Be sure to keep an eye on our blog in the days after AU—I plan to post my takes on the event and some of the technologies I see.
In the words of the immortal Elvis Presley, “Viva Las Vegas!”
